Private tuition is our most requested form of training. You will be pleasantly surprised by the confidence and ability both you and your dog will gain, upon the completion of a block of only 6 lessons. Common problems such as jumping and pulling are corrected in just the first lesson. Do not, however, confuse obedience with behavioral problems. Our obedience training comprises of the following:

1.      To walk, trot and run at heel position without pulling

2.      To sit automatically whenever you stop

3.      To lie down and stay on command

4.      To sit and stay in position

5.      To come when called and sit in front (present)

6.      To stand and stay (if applicable)

All commands are taught both verbally and with hand signals. The techniques learned during this training period, will last the lifetime of your pet. DO IT ONCE, AND DO IT RIGHT!

In Canada, there exists no formal criteria or examination requirements to qualify a person to train dogs as a profession. Virtually anyone can present himself or herself as an instructor. Please be aware that permanent damage can be inflicted upon your pet by the methods and advices of unskilled novice trainers. Before booking lessons, as a protective measure for yourself and your pet, ask to see credentials. Examples of these may be:

1.      Trainer’s accreditation from a recognized source

2.      Instructor’s diploma

3.      Letters of Veterinary approval and referral

4.      Past client comment book

5.      Membership in the Canadian Institute of Professional Dog Trainers or other recognized training authority.
